My name is Noor, I am a self-taught traditional artist based in Toronto, Canada. Some could say that my journey to art was inevitable: my Mom's side are all artists originating from Iraq and Kuwait, and my brothers and sisters also practice various forms of art - from photography, to painting. For me, my interest in art started out in a way that is probably relatable to many. I grew up around a lot of inspirational media (video games particularly) and that is what really drove me to begin drawing. I wanted to somehow capture those memories forever. Classic titles such as Final Fantasy were of huge inspiration to me. I have been practicing for about a decade (...time flies!). I mainly work with drawing (charcoal and graphite) and painting (acrylic and oil paints). I have had the opportunity to both sell and auction my art. I have also been commissed to produce technical illustrations for course-work, lab manuals, and research based purposes. My main focus is on portraiture, abstract and surrealist art.

On the right, I have uploaded one of my recent surrealist graphite pieces inspired by a pandemic dream. For more details on artworks inspired by pandemic dreams, see here:
